Our Story

Owner & Founder of ‘Scrumpy Pig’, Richard Brant who was originally from the West Country growing up near Taunton in Somerset moved to the North West of England in 2004 to the beautiful county of Lancashire where he has now settled.

The inspiration for the name of our business, offering outside catering in Chorley, is through his upbringing in the heart of Somerset. Richard grew up surrounded by traditional cider farms with endless rows of apple orchards covering the scenic landscape and Richard has many vivid memories of tasty hog roast feasts washed down with jugs of local Scrumpy Cider.

Richard and his team did a great job at our summer party. Richard was very responsive beforehand and totally reliable. Food was great (pulled pork wraps and mushroom veggie option). Team were polite, friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend

We booked Scrumpy Pig for my birthday garden party. Richard was incredible. I chose the self serve option, Richard arrived on time and set up. We had pulled pork, freshly baked baps, potato salad, apple sauce, red cabbage, salad and crackling. The food was divine and there was plenty of it!. Everyone of my guests commented on the excellence of the food and had 2nd's and 3rds. We will definitely use Richard again and highly recommend Scrumpy Pig. Thank you

Me and my work colleague spotted this place whilst on our lunch break. I had the BBQ honey pulled pork on a bed of apple slaw and nachos. I have to say that this was the best BBQ pulled pork dish I have ever had! It’s amazing, so tasty and the texture of the meat along with everything else is an amazing taste experience. They had plenty of options and I will definitely try them again. 10/10
